Pitch

 Idea No.1

Scene starts with an old warn 24mm film image of a man on the beach kissing his baby's head, photo bridges to the man's son who is all grow up sitting on the same beach with his baby capturing the same photo, as they sit on beach chairs watching sunset, the man uses the app to post the old photo, he writes the caption which appears in a large post bubble above him in the sky, "Dad always said he wanted to make his final steps along this beach, that may not have happened but baby Hayden just took his first steps here today", then underneath he attaches the photo of him and his son next to the photo of him and his dad years earlier and post the memory, the text box in the sky then disappears. A notification box appears showing other people adding posts to the page about the mans father. A high angle close up shows the man feeling proud/emotional after seeing all the lovely posts, he looks up towards the sky The shot zooms out to an establishing shot from an aerial view which shows off the beautiful landscape around them filed with people. The use of CGI will allow us to create a tree diagram showing how each of them people is connected to someone else in the shot, a narrator says "Ancestree, Celebrate and Explore History".

Budget

Drone Hire - Drone and operator are needed this will cost £300 a session. We believe we will need the drone for 4 sessions. Total cost is £1200.

Lighting Equipment Hire - We will mainly be relying on natural lighting on the beach. For dual panel diffused lighting kits it will cost us £33 a day and we will need to hire the equipment for a total of 15 days. The total cost for lighting we bee around £495.

Sound Equipment Hire - It will cost £45 a day to hire out a light weight sound kit, we will need this for a total of 15 days. Total cost is £675

Editors - Editor that is confident with CGI needed, they will be payed around £20 an hour and will be working 6 hours a day for two weeks (Mon-Fri). Total cost is £1200.

Crew - We require one camera operator, I will be performing the role of director, we will need a sound technician and a runner. We will be paying each staff member £12 an hour and they will be working for 6 hours a day for a total of 15 days. Total cost is £3240.

Actors - We will have two adult actors and one baby. Adults will be payed £14 an hour for 15 days of shooting. Baby will be payed £7 an hour for 15 days of shooting. Total for adults is £2520, total for child is £630.

Insurance - Public and Employee insurance £30 a month, equipment insurance is also £30 a month.

Total Estimated Production Cost - £10020

Timescale

We are going to need 4 days to produce drone footage, there isn't much footage needed but this gives us a chance to reshoot if weather conditions are not good enough or if shots are great. We will be using the other 6 days of the production to shoot the footage on the beach. These figures are Mon-Fri therefore in total this is 2 weeks of shooting. We will then need a further two weeks to edit the footage send it off to the client for feedback and them amendments. Overall the production will take 4 weeks to produce according to our estimations, this figure may change when in depth planning has taken place.

Idea No.2

Establishing Shot of lovely landscape captured on drone, the device then flies down towards a little coffee shop, the drone flies in through the window framing a middle aged lady sitting on her laptop next to an old Lady, reading the post, a post bubble appears above her head as she starts writing "So lovely to see Hayden take his first steps on Uncle Alberts beach, I am in the Sunnyside café with Mum, found a photo of all the family sitting along the shore playing hide n seek, couldn't figure out who the child on the left was, Mum says it was a cousin who moved to away, we should try find them". She creates a page about the boy and she writes all the details she knows, once she has posted the post she closes her laptop and they continue talking. Later that night whilst she is sitting at home in her living room watching tv, she receives one notification after another of people adding to her page, the last notification is a direct message from her cousin saying "That was a long game of hide n seek cuz". A close up of her shows how the character is feeling relieved and happy to have heard from her relative. A final screen appears with the logo in the centre and the social media links at the bottom, a narration is used to say the company tagline "Ancestree, Let's Grow Our Family Trees".

Budget

Editors - CGI editor will be payed £20 an hour and will be working for 3 weeks (Mon-Fri) approximately for 6 hours a day. Total cost will be £1800.

Actors - 2 main actors will be use which will be payed £14 an hour, we will only be shooting for 6 hours a day for 2 weeks and 3 days. We will also need some background actors to sit in coffee shop, these actors will only be payed £10 an hour as they barely do anything, they will only be required for a weeks worth of shooting (Mon-Fri) for 6 hours a day. Total cost will be £1392.

Lighting Equipment Hire - For dual panel diffused lighting kits it will cost us £33 a day and we will need to hire the equipment for a total of 13 days. The total cost for lighting we bee around £429.

Sound Equipment Hire - It will cost us £45 a day to hire a light weight sound kit for our production. We will need the equipment for 13 days worth of shooting therefore it will cost us £585 in total.

Location Hire - We have acquired a quote from a local coffee shop, they have said they can let us use the location for filming for £150 a day however, we would only be able to use the facility early in the morning in order to not harm their business. We would need the location for 8 days therefore it would cost us £1200 in total. We will also need to rent out a house for 5 days to capture the remaining footage, we have found properties which are advertised for £60 a night, we would have to ask the property for permission to use the location within the production before shooting however, this shouldn't be a problem.

Drone Hire - We will need to hire both a drone and a drone operator, this will cost roughly £300 a session and will be required for 3 days therefore it will cost us £900.

Crew - We require one camera operator, I will be performing the role of director, we will need a sound technician and a runner. We will be paying each staff member £12 an hour and they will be working for 6 hours a day for a total of 13 days. The total cost will be £2808.

Insurance - We have found quotes for public and employee insurance for film for a total of £30 a month. We may also want insurance on our equipment which will also be £30 a month.

Total Estimated Production Cost - £10974.

Timescale

I believe we can capture the footage within 2 and a half weeks. I believe we should set aside 3 days to capture all of the drone footage, although there is only a couple shots it is best to set aside multiple days just in case weather conditions are too windy for drone footage. We will have to spend one week capturing the footage inside the coffee shop and then we will spend the last week capturing the footage inside the house. I believe the most time consuming part of the production will be the post production  due to the use of CGI, we will set aside 2 weeks to complete editing which will be split between an editor used to produce CGI and myself to complete simpler editing task such as transitions, cutting footage together, etc. Once the production is finished it will be sent to the client to be reviewed, once reviewed we will use a final week to make any amendments to the video based upon the feedback received.

Scheduling

Gannt Chart  I have created a Gannt chart in order to plan out my the production/planning/editing/evaluating of the production. I have made sure to space everything out and give myself realistic timescales to finish each and every task. The tasks have been split into different sections in order to keep it organised and to show a better visual representation of which tasks should be started first. The first section is planning, I have put this first as you must plan a video before you can produce it, the planning section contains all the tasks which I believe relate to planning for example, analysing music videos, researching music videos theories, analysing the song I want to produce and create all relevant documents such as storyboards. The next section is productions, the sections contains all actions I must take in relation to shooting the video for example, finding equipment, actors and props needed, shooting the video, watching footage back and shooting more footage if necessary.

Editing My Music Video Together

Throughout the editing process of the music video I have kept a log detailing the different editing techniques I have implemented throughout the music video. This log references what I have done and where, why I have used the specific editing technique, what issues I found whilst editing the footage together and finally how I believed I could have improved upon.  Jump Cut When the lyrics "when you've had a few" plays a jump cut is used in which bottles appear to help illustrate the lyrics for the audience whilst adding some comedic effect by amplifying the idea of drinking by exaggerating how much alcohol the character has drank. I believe the jump cut works well here and links to Vernallis' theory on music videos in which she suggests conventionally jump cuts are used in videos as a short way of transferring information to the audience in a fashion which is both engaging and clear.  Cutting With The Lyrics Throughout the video I have made sure the frames in the vide
