What is 8mm Montage and Why is it Use?

The use of montage in film has been used for decades, it creates many creative outcomes which all have a different effect on the audience. The use of 8mm film or a 8mm film look using post production can create a nostalgic home movie aesthetic which connects with the audience and allows them to engage more with the content being shown to them. If creating the home family movie look using post production the use of layers of film damage to give the footage a more vintage, nostalgic look, this is an experimental approach which could produce some creative content. The use of 8mm film footage could be a good way to suggest to an audience the narrative is non-linear and they are telling a narrative happening in the past. The approach gives a very creative narrative which keeps the audience engaged without being too confusing to follow. The use of a montage sequence allows use to reveal a large amount of information in a short amount of time allowing the narrative to move along smoothly.

Evaluation of Development of Practical Skills Across Course

Throughout this year I believe I have been able to learn a variety of practical skills which will benefit me when working in a professional environment. Psychoanalysis is a set of psychological theories and therapeutic methods which are used to release repressed emotions and experiences (ie. making the subconscious, conscious). Many of these theories were derived from Sigmund Freuds work (McLeod, 2007). The main assumption within psychoanalysis is that human beings possess unconscious thoughts, feelings, desires and memories. A main area of study in psychoanalysis is dreams, our dreams can reflect a lot about each individuals subconscious mind which could be key to understanding ourselves and society around us. Production Schedule

I have created a production schedule in the form of a Gantt chart, I have used this format as it gives me a visual representation of the timeframe I need to be working with. I have also added a progress tracking feature which I will update every Monday which will show you how much progress I have made with completing each individual task. Currently, I have placed my target dates to start and finish each item on the schedule however, I will amend the schedule to show what I have actually been able to produce in the timeframe set.
